Louise Zandian

Founder & CEO

CEO of Lifeworks North Staffs since 2006. Louise has an MA in Autistic Spectrum, Post Graduate Diploma in Asperger Syndrome BEd (Hons), and an Undergraduate Certificate in Autism which gives her academic knowledge of the Autistic Spectrum. She has previous experience working in education, including Equality in Learning and Teacher Coordinator, Equality Diversity Consultant, and visiting lecturer at Staffordshire University. Practical knowledge of Supporting Autistic teenagers and adults as an advocate, mentor and social interpreter for Lifeworks clients. Louise provides training on ASC for professionals, including local colleges and universities, health and social care staff, and students. Louise has received the following awards: Autism Practitioner of the Year in Stoke 2017, Carer of the Year 2011 sponsored by N-u-L Volunteer services, and runner-up in the National Learning Disability Awards. She is committed to improving Autistic people’s lives and their carers and campaigns for Autistic and ADHD services in Staffordshire.

Chair

Janet is the Chair of Lifeworks. She has practical and academic knowledge of the autistic spectrum from obtaining a University Certificate of Autism at Birmingham University and a Certificate in Mentoring at Derby University. She supports Lifeworks clients on a one-to-one basis and supports Louise Zandian.

Roy is the Vice Chair of Lifeworks Staffordshire. He is committed to supporting people on the spectrum and provides specialist knowledge from working in the charity sector for over ten years.

Sue Gibson

Sue Gibson

Trustee

Sue is a Trustee. She has over 30 years of experience with people on the spectrum. She runs carer groups for Lifeworks carers in the community. Her life experience and knowledge of Autistic Spectrum Conditions, including befriending and mentoring clients and supporting carers, gives her specialist knowledge to campaign for people with Autism, and Autism and ADHD services in Staffordshire. She takes part in the following meetings to help shape services in Staffordshire: The Service User and Carer Council, NHS Autism Strategy, Expert By Experience Autism, Regional Autism Workshops, Stoke on Trent Parent Carer Forum, Healthwatch Stoke, Carer Strategy, South Staffs Locality Forum.

Treasurer

Linda Shenton Treasurer. Linda records and prepares the accounts for Lifeworks North Staffs, organises the paperwork for any audits, and makes sure our finances are balanced and spent correctly. She also helps to raise money for Lifeworks.

Rosemary Robinson

Trustee

Rosemary is a trustee of Lifeworks North Staffs. She has a BSc and a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate of Education). Rosemary has worked with Louise Zandian at previous organisations. She organises Gift Aid for Lifeworks, and updates our policies.

Volunteer

Thair is one of our regular volunteers who comes in to the office to help out with administration tasks and he also helps us out if we need anything fixing in the office, for example he put up our blinds for the windows.

Dom is the Volunteer Coordinator. Dom has Dual Honors Degree in Electronics, Sociology and Social Anthropology from Keele University. He also has a qualification in Dyslexia Awareness NVQ level 2 and Introduction to Counselling qualifications. He has years of experience working in the charity sector and completed a First Aid at Work course from Newcastle College.

Administrator. Vicky has completed an online diploma in Autism Awareness, has completed a First Aid Certificate, and received Staffordshire Fire and Rescue training to be Lifeworks Fire Marshall. She supports the team by completing administration tasks, managing social media and the Lifeworks website. She supports Sue and Aimee in gathering statistics when Lifeworks are running projects from our sponsors.

Volunteer and Activities Bid Writer

Activities Coordinator Liam organises and runs the social activities. He has over 5 years experience volunteering for Lifeworks. He also supports Louise by doing admin duties and answering the phone. He has recently been given the responsibility to write bids for funding the social activities.

Aimee Calcott

Aimee Calcott

Project Leader

Aimee oversees the funding received from The Big Lottery. She has over 3 years experience in supporting those with ADHD and Autism, running the ADHD support groups with Louise. As well as the following qualifications: NCFE Level 2 in Working with individuals with learning disabilities, Mental Health, First Aid trained, NCFE Level 2 in Understanding Autism, Understanding ADHD(Current research and Practice) with Kings College and Open University qualification in Understanding ADHD. Aimee has both ADHD and Autism, and provides initial assessments and Life coaching to our clients, and oversees the Outreach Workers, Business Development Officer, and participates in local meetings involving the charity.

Roger is a volunteer with Lifeworks and has personal experience of the difficulties people on the Autistic Spectrum experience. He has experience in administration and working with vulnerable people.

Phil Vyse

Business Development Officer

Phil is our Business Development Officer. He attends events and networks with companies, other organisations, and other charities to advertise our charity. He organises some fundraising events, most recently he organised the concert at St Andrew’s Church. 

Volunteers

Lifeworks have many regular and occasional volunteers that help us in the office, for fundraising events, are Befrienders for our clients, or carry out research for us. We appreaciate all the time they put in and everything they do for us.

Vicky Knight

Outreach Worker

Vicky is an outreach worker for Lifeworks North Staffs. She offers support out in the community to help clients build their social skills and confidence. Vicky helps our clients in gaining life skills like cooking, organising and budgeting. She has children who have autism, ADHD and dyslexia so has a good understanding of the conditions. Vicky has previously worked in catering and was a support worker for alcohol and drug services, she is also personal assistant.
