Volunteer

Your support is important to our work at Lifeworks North Staffs. There are many ways you can contribute towards our causes, and every little bit that you commit goes a long way in helping us fulfil our mission. Learn more about how you can get involved and take advantage of the opportunity to help us.

Befriending

We are looking for compassionate, friendly Volunteer Befrienders (18+) with good communication and organisational skills.

The role will include helping to build social interactions by establishing and maintaining a friendly, sympathetic and professional relationship, encouraging engagement with Lifeworks and other organisations activities, to help the client gain confidence through social interaction and valuable life skills improving their quality of life. All volunteers are DBS checked and have Befriending Training before being matched up with a client.

For more information contact us.

Fundraising

Lifeworks North Staffs do not receive any government funding. We are always looking for ways to raise much needed funds and we have organised coffee mornings, summer and Christmas fairs so we can continue the work that Lifeworks North Staffs do. We also go to various networking events to promote Lifeworks and our cause.

Every year we hold a fundraising event at the Repertory Theatre on Leek Road, Stoke-on-Trent. http://stokerep.info/
We sell tickets for a performance and a proportion of the ticket sales goes directly to Lifeworks.

Lifeworks have set up Lyme Lottery, Easyfundraising and PayPal pages so it is easy to donate to us.

You can donate or attend our fundraising events to help us out.

‘Coming to Lifeworks is a way of meeting other people in the same situation. It’s a place I can go where people don’t judge. I feel my life has changed for the better and now I have a purpose. Before the support from Lifeworks my life consisted of many struggles but now I can speak to people at Lifeworks and always feel supported’

Dr Wood, Professional

‘To everyone at Lifeworks, I just wanted to say a big thank you for supporting our student, Trainee Clinical Psychologist with accessing participants to take part in her research for her thesis. Our student has now completed her research and has passed her viva. I know she is planning to contact you to say thank you herself and to give you some feedback from the research, but as her clinical supervisor, I also wanted to say thank you for your support.’

Professional

'The presentation was fantastic, we really do appreciate you taking out the time to deliver it to us.  This was our most popular CC meeting we have had so far and had 15 people attend. Again thank you to you all.'
